The woman, reports say, was coming from a chama meeting in Nyalenda on Thursday at around 9 pm when she was waylaid by the motorcycle-riding gang at Buddies area.
She was then kidnapped and taken towards the Kiboswa area along Kakamega road. The assailants stopped at around Mamboleo where they reportedly attacked her.
They then made away with the said cash and the woman's phone after chopping off her right leg's toes.
JOOTRH officials say the woman was rushed to the facility on Friday morning after which she was operated on to stabilise her condition.
